A healing routine.
Before starting Healing Routines, I spent over a decade working as an Occupational Therapist, supporting people in restoring balance, purpose, and connection in their daily lives. Much of my work was in mental health and lifestyle medicine, helping others navigate stress, chronic pain, and the challenges of burnout. Through those years, I saw how deeply the nervous system, emotional wellbeing, and everyday routines impact our ability to heal and feel whole. Along the way, I continued to explore holistic approaches—studying yoga, mindfulness, Qigong, Reiki, and life coaching—which opened my eyes to how powerful an integrative approach can be. Those experiences inspired me to create something new… a space where science and soul meet to support women in real, everyday healing.
I started my wellness business Healing Routines LLC in 2017 here in New Ulm. I began by teaching yoga classes in Sleepy Eye and The New Ulm Wellness Collective for community members, pregnant women, moms & babies, and even toddlers & kiddos! My business grew through grant funded workshops for healthcare workers, teachers, and moms - teaching the life skills of stress management, lifestyle balance, and selfcare. I offered 1:1 occupational therapy for persons with stress related illness, chronic pain, and post partum mood disorders out of my office space at The New Ulm Wellness Collective. I am so grateful for the multitude of collaborations, events, and offerings I was able to create and provide during this time. After I had my 3rd child - and during the pandemic - I set down my private practice to focus on my family and my own nervous system self-care. In 2023 I ended my membership at The Well and slowly shifted into what my business has become today.
Community based. Women focused. Integrative Self-Care. A fusion of my medical background, eclectic experiences, my interests in eastern & holistic healing, and my own personal experience as a high-achieving, healthcare professional, mother, caregiver, and burnout modern woman. Instead of compartmentalizing my skills and experiences, I’m integrating them all together to create really unique wellness services.
I’m currently offering community yoga classes and well-being workshops out of Ulm Sweet Ulm/Lykke Bookstore space and collaborating with them for Kids Yoga events and more to come! It’s a wonderful and blossoming community hub and I’m excited to offer a variety of accessible classes and workshops for the community to help ease the collective burden of stress, burnout, and grief that we experience as humans. AND I’ll be re-launching my 1:1 services September 2025!
My new office space is located just a few blocks from where I teach yoga, in historic downtown New Ulm - 9 1/2 N Minnesota Street. I’m getting things ready to provide a healing, calm, and sacred space for women to REST & RESTORE. At this time, I’m offering cash-pay wellness services outside of the medical model. This allows me to integrate all of my unique skills into sessions designed for women experiencing burnout, overwhelm, and grief. I’ll be offering special small group coaching for moms as well.
When I’m not teaching classes and workshops, you can find me with my family. I live in New Ulm with my husband and 3 children. We enjoy being outdoors, crafting and creating, and walking our new rescue puppy. I also work casually as an OT in acute care & ortho and enjoy my rehab team and the awesome work culture there. It’s good to keep my toes dipped in the traditonal field. OT is cool that way, we can work anywhere, with anyone, and always have an opportunity to serve, be creative, and challenged.
Traveling and Yoga are 2 of my favorite meaningful “occupations” (an OT term for ways we occupy our time) - so I travel with FitBodies INC a few times a year as a traveling Yogi - teaching at beautful all-inclusive resorts around the world! Yoga… on the beach? YES PLEASE :)
Thanks for taking the time to get to learn more about me and Healing Routines. I hope to see you in a class, workshop, or my office and help guide you back to peace within mind, body and spirit.
Namaste, Kinzie
